What is the mandate, issued by Christ, for the church? “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature…”(Mark 16:15). How much do you, as an individual Christian, know about the business of world evangelism? How much is this topic talked about in assemblies and business meetings of the Lord’s church? If we’re going to do more for the world, we must know more. Global Harvest is our tool for getting that information out.
Wonderful and exciting things are happening throughout the world. We want American Christians to be aware of the needs, the victories, and the opportunities, and to be praying about these events as well as to be supporting them financially, to the degree that you are able. In Global Harvest you will read about churches and workers in the US, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, the Indian Sub-continent, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and New Zealand and Australia. We want you to get to know your brothers and sisters in all of these places.
Missionaries and local Christians are urged to write their stories and to send them along with appropriate pictures, so that we can get those stories out to the brotherhood. The more we know, the more we’ll do; and the more we do, the more we’ll grow; and the more we grow, the more exciting and fulfilling our own walk with God will be.
One sister in a mission area of the US called us after receiving a copy of Global Harvest. Even over the phone her excitement was evident. She said, “I had no idea so many things were going on in the rest of the world!” Reading those accounts was a great encouragement to her, as they will be to you.
At this time, Global Harvest, an 84-page magazine in full color, is printed twice each year. The subscription price for individual copies is US $10 for two issues. For congregational use, the cost is $75 for 50 copies.
Several issues of Global Harvest can be read online through Scribd.
