Byron and Gay Nichols

Both Byron and Gay are Missouri natives, Byron having been born in Kansas City and reared in Osceola, and Gay having been both born and reared in Springfield. They met at worship in Springfield and were married three years later. They have two grown children and two grandchildren. Their daughter, Jill, is married to Doug Johnson, and they have two children, Nicole and Spencer. Their son, Scott, and his wife, Crissy, have no children as yet. All three families live in Springfield and are part of the Sunset Church of Christ.

Byron received his undergraduate degree from Southwest Missouri State University and his Master’s degree from the University of Missouri. He has been a public school teacher and administrator, an administrator of Christian children’s homes, director of a preacher training school, a congregational education director, a preacher, deacon, elder, and songleader. He has been the Managing Editor of The Voice of Truth International since its inception in 1991, and Gay works in the Springfield office as well.

With J.C.’s death in February of 2008, Byron became the Editor of The Voice of Truth International. The magazine continues to have positive reception both here in the States and throughout the 80 countries to which boxes are mailed.
